TRIBAL LAW
Paul has extensive experience working with all aspects of tribal law. Paul has helped draft tribal ordinances on a wide variety of topics including employment, public peace and good order, tribal court establishment and procedure, peacemaking, snowplowing, administrative appeals, truancy and curfew, and child welfare.
In addition to his legislative experience, Paul has litigated in tribal courts in Wisconsin and Minnesota on various issues including tribal constitutional interpretation, election disputes, child support, employment, debt collection, contempt of court, administrative appeals and other civil issues.
Paul worked for 8 years as the Tribal Prosecutor for the Stockbridge-Munsee Community. In that role he represented the Tribe in its tribal court on ordinance violations, collections, child welfare, guardianships and many other types of cases.
Paul as also worked as the Chair of a grievance review board which hears employment disputes under tribal law. Paul’s role with hearing body is similar to that of a hearing examiner or administrative law judge.
